About This:

Purpose of the Research seeks to examine the impact of High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) on youth athletes 'aerobic and anaerobic capacities. Vasconcelos et al. (2020) define High-Intensity Interval Training as exercise involving intense efforts of short duration with periods of rest or exercise at a lower intensity, characteristically, the duration of the high-intensity phase ranges from less than 45 seconds to a couple of minutes. The important thing to preach here is that true HIIT includes high-intensity efforts which do not exceed thirty seconds, as it adheres to its definition to stimulate both anaerobic and aerobic domains efficiently. According to Aschendorf et al. (2019), HIIT is one of the most discussed topics of sports science for youths’ training. The HIIT that involves exercise which is followed by recovery or low-intensity exercise has the ability to increase the both the VO2Max and Anaerobic systems in young athletes.

This training method builds the key anaerobic and aerobic skills that form the basis of athletic performance (Runacres et al., 2019). According to Chaput et al. (2020), only quarter of children and adolescents of 6-17 years engage in 60 minutes of physical activity daily; Sigmundová and Sigmund (2021) confirmed that youth spend 7.5 hours per day on sedentary activities using screens.
