The IT industry in the UK is a rapidly evolving sector where leadership styles significantly influence employee motivation and performance. This research focuses on Microsoft, a prominent player in this industry, to explore how various leadership styles impact its workforce. The purpose of this study is to evaluate different leadership styles and their role in improving motivation among employees in the UK workplace and ensuring better performance of the employees. It is found that the employee attrition rate in the leading tech giant in the world, Microsoft is reaching a crisis level. The research will aim to analyse “the impact of effective leadership styles on employee motivation and improve the performances of employees in the IT industry in the UK considering the case of Microsoft, the leading tech company in the UK”. This chapter of the research has highlighted the literary articles that were quite important in assessing the topic of leadership styles and employee motivation. According to Altheeb, (2020), leadership styles motivate employees by influencing organizational structure. According to Makambe, and Moeng, (2020), leadership is a fundamental phenomenon that contributes towards employee performance and employee engagement. This chapter has overall highlighted that multiple leadership styles such as laissez-faire, Democratic, and multiple leadership styles can have a deep effect on employee motivation.
