Summary of Assignment

You’re going to present FIVE topics as part of the Management of Information Systems sessions. The portfolio will contain PowerPoint slides (For each topic no more than 6/7 slides - with -/+1 slide tolerance) for five topics. The slides should be presented as PowerPoint with notes pages.

University policies on late submission of coursework and plagiarism will be strictly adhered to this assignment.
This is an individual assignment. This part of the coursework represents 50% of the module mark. The marking schemes (the last page) indicate how marks are given for each aspect of the work.

The learning outcomes that are assessed by this coursework are:

1.Critically appraise understanding of the concepts/terminologies, relevant innovative technologies, and fundamental theories in management of information systems.
2.Have a comprehensive understanding of the purpose of information systems within organisations and IS/IT departments to analyse given scenarios and propose evaluated solutions to given problems.
3.Review and assess information sources within IT Management literature, both trade and academic.

Tasks to be undertaken

You will present FIVE topics as part of Management of Information Systems sessions. The portfolio will contain PowerPoint slides (For each topic no more than 6/7 slides - with -/+1 slide tolerance) for five topics. The slides should be presented as PowerPoint with notes pages.

The Presentations’ Checklist

  • The presentations’ format should be mainly within a single .ppt or .pptx file format (i.e. Any other type of file’s formats is not going to present the Notes sections as one of the important parts of the submissions).
  • The presentation slides should be developed based on the allocated topic/task which has been already allocated to the student and available on LZ as Task Allocation Table that shows the list of students for MIS Presentations’ Portfolio assessment.
  • For each task - the topic of the assigned task and its address should be notified on the first slide (e.g. Session 1 Story 2 Task 1: Legacy Systems)
  • For each task – the task’s EXACT question(s) that is/are going to be discussed on the slide -
    should be noted at the top of the related slide.
  • Each presentation will contain the PowerPoint slides and Notes sections (i.e. No more than 6/7 slides for each assigned task/topic, with -/+1 slide tolerance).
  • The PowerPoint slides may contain explanatory notes (i.e. the notes section presents further explanations as important terms should be defined, and concepts should be further clarified).
  • All discussions through each slide or note section of this assessment should be supported by valid resources (e.g. Journal articles, conference papers, book chapters, …) as within-text citations in DMU Harvard style
    o(i.e. The student should not have used any invalid resources as citations like wiki,
    websites, Vlogs, Blogs …, etc.)
  • The Presentation should be a proof-read version of the slides.
  • The 'References' section should be at the last slide (slide #7) of each assigned task.
  • For each task – there should be one slide (slide #6)- which must address the link to the other available sessions/stories presented in the module and declare about the reason of this relevance between the assigned topic and the chosen session/story.
  • All Figures and Tables should demonstrate as follows: Table/Figure's caption,
    in addition to the Figure/Table's title,
    and the most important part is to add the resource(s) of the noted Figure/Table as a within- text DMU Harvard citation – such as below:

    oFigure 1 - The hierarchical structure of Activity - Source: (Daniels et al., 2016, p.26)
  • All citations and references section should be structured based on DMU Harvard style.

Deliverables to be submitted for assessment:

  • A portfolio of PowerPoint slides with notes for FIVE presentations, with contents page.
  • To be submitted via Turnitin online on Learning-Zone.
