The assessment requires students to complete a written original research report of a minimum of 10,000 words and submit it on the dedicated Turnitin link by Wednesday 17 September 2025 at 3pm.
The topic of the Dissertation chosen by the students should be related to their Course content.
Students must demonstrate research skills, and adopt a relevant research methodology, drawing on a range of sources, and employing different information search strategies, enabling them to arrive at valid and reliable research conclusions.
Students are required to write and submit a research work of 10,000-14,000 words (including references) by the 17th of September 2025 at 3 pm. Submission of the final Dissertation must be electronically online on the Turnitin Assessment System, which will be available on the Weblearn page of the FE7P64 Dissertation - Summer 2024-25 module. The link will be circulated by the Module Leader via Weblearn announcement.
The suggested structure and words for each chapter/section is the following:
ABF: CSR and Sustainability; International Accounting and Finance; International Banking and Finance; International Trade and Finance.
MCE: Digital Brand Management; Fashion Marketing and Management; Marketing (and all pathways); Culture, Heritage and Leisure Management; International Travel and Tourism.
SM: Airline and Airport Corporate Management; International Business Management; International Business Management with Project Management.
Students will critically investigate issues cognate to their programme of study.
Students can collect secondary data, primary data, or both. This choice depends on the research question/s, data availability, etc. Please note that secondary data refers to original data from a database (such as London Stock Exchange, Bloomberg etc...) or specific documents available from an authoritative institutional/professional source, not from journal articles only. Otherwise, this would be an extension of Chapter 2-Literature Review and, as a consequence, marks will be affected.
Submitting a research ethics form from PG students conducting research for their dissertations is not required. However, you still need to be aware and strictly follow all the research ethics fundamentals while conducting research. In particular, if you will be collecting primary data, you must send the participants the consent form. A draft to be adapted and signed in case of collection of data via semi-structured interviews is available from the FE7P64 Dissertation Summer 2024-25 Weblearn page-Folder "Week 2-Lecture 2”. In collecting primary data via a structured questionnaire (e.g., a survey), the "consent" can be included in the questionnaire/survey form.

To pass the module you must achieve an overall minimum mark of 50%. If you pass the module on re-assessment, the component you Resit will be capped at a pass mark level of 50%.
The marking process makes sure that the assessment of the work is fair, consistent, and transparent. The First Marker will provide initial formal feedback. After this, there are two further layers of checking and assurance.
A Second Marker will moderate a sample to check the marking and the feedback given by the First Marker, to make sure that they agree with the comments and marks. If they do not, they will raise their points of difference with the first marker and try to reach an agreement. At this stage marks and feedback may be adjusted if necessary. If they cannot agree, a third marker will be brought into the discussion. After internal moderation has taken place, a sample of assessed work will also be seen by an External Examiner (EE).
The EE is a subject specialist recruited from outside the University who can take a completely independent view of the student’s work to confirm the general standard of marking or feedback. The EE is required to report this back to the University and to the Chair of the Subject Standards Board that formally processes the marks. On the rare occasions this happens the marks will not be released until all parties are agreed that the assessment outcomes are appropriate and if necessary, it may mean that the work is entirely remarked.

If the first sit is not successful (i.e., marks are below 50%) or the student failed as a result of not submitting it by the deadline, the revised and improved version of the dissertation together with a report where the Student explains how the feedback received has been implemented can be submitted by early January 2026. The submission link will be circulated in due time by the Module Leader.
Mark will be capped at the pass level of 50%.
If the Student applies for mitigating circumstances and the claim is accepted, the Dissertation will be marked as a FIRST SIT. International Travel and Tourism.
