The final project report is intended to document the final scope of work using the scrum methodology.
The written report must contain the following contents and formatted accordingly:
1. Cover page (include group number, and full name and student number of all group members).
2. Table of contents.
3. Revised Scope of Work:
o Revise the scope of work based on actual implementation. Provide details on changes made since the interim project report.
o The scope of work may include elements of software engineering, data engineering and AI and machine learning as well as their corresponding operation elements DevOps, DataOps and MLOps.
o Final distribution of assessment weightage – Please indicate the final weightage for each project task domain using the following table:
| Domain | Final Weightage | Delta w.r.t. Interim Report (+/-) |
| Software Engineering | ||
| Data Engineering | ||
| AI and Machine Learning | ||
| Total | 100% |
4. Revised Scrum Planning:
o Product backlog refinement – Update the final set of product features in the form of user stories. New or revised user stories should be clearly highlighted. User stories that are no longer required should be removed.
o Sprints – Update the final list of sprints constituting the project work. Your group is required to have a minimum of 4 sprints.
For each sprint, provide the necessary details together with any changes made since the interim project report.
o User stories – Updated user stories that capture the descriptions of desired features from the first party perspective.
5. Scrum Ceremonies:
o Scrum ceremonies are events where the scrum master, product owner, and development team meet to plan work, discuss work in progress, gather feedback, and perform various other tasks. Scrum ceremonies provide a structured framework for regular communication, keeping your group focused and aligned to improve your processes.
o The four main scrum ceremonies of interest are sprint planning, daily stand-up (daily scrum), story time, and sprint retrospective. The sprint review or sprint demo can be omitted from the final report as these sessions were typically conducted in the presence of the lecturer.
o For each scrum ceremony, provide evidence of how your group have conducted these sessions through the semester. Possible sources of evidence include but are not limited to project management tools, instant messaging tools, Kanban boards, meeting notes, screenshots, etc.
o Your group may organise the write-up by scrum ceremonies or sprints:
Scrum Ceremonies:
• Sprint Planning:
o Sprint 1
o Sprint 2
o …
Sprints:
• Sprint 1:
o Sprint Planning
o Daily Stand-up
o …
o It is not necessary to discuss all sprints in detail especially if your group has more than four sprints. The emphasis is on narrative impact or quality rather than mundane repetition or quantity. Focus on documenting evidence depicting best practices.
6. Visual Documentation of Completed Project:
o For each sprint, provide screenshots of your actual software prototypes depicting major user stories or highlights of significant product features.
o Provide captions and/or annotations to briefly explain what each screenshot is depicting.
o For data engineering and AI and machine learning domains, provide screenshots of relevant processes and their output as appropriate.
7. Conclusion – Briefly reflect on any major problems that your group has encountered in the course of the capstone project and how your group has mitigated them.
If your group has used generative AI tools, briefly explain how the tools have been utilized and reflect on the advantages and disadvantages of using them.
8. References (if any)
9. Appendices (if any)

Your group may use generative AI tools such as ChatGPT to assist you in the course of undertaking background research and the various project tasks. But you should not outright ask generative AI tools to prepare the deliverables for you. Anti-plagiarism and AI content detection tools may be employed to cross-check your group’s submission. If your group is suspected of committing an act of academic dishonesty, penalty may be imposed, and follow-up disciplinary action taken against the entire group.
