The University of Leicester, situated in England, is a public research university. It started as a University College, in Leicester, and in 1957, got the status of a University. To ensure that the buildings are structurally sound and safe to work under, Leicestershire Live reported that there’s a lot of work required on the roofs and the steel framework of the buildings. This is because they were built in the year 1970s.
There will be staff at new locations to help with assignments, as this will ensure the students don’t feel that they are missing something.
As the timetables are redesigned, the effects will be visible and noticeable within all the departments and university faculties, as per the leaked correspondence between the staff and the university.
Also, there were suggestions of moving to the Adrian Building as it is also on the main campus, the University did not want to move from one failing building to another failing building, as it is not in work due to repairs.
The nearby located, Adrian Building will be closed permanently. This building is the home of the schools of life sciences and genetics. It is famous for being the site where DNA fingerprinting was founded in 1984. This building is also suffering from deterioration. The activities of the building have been suspended for the last two years.
