University Kaplan Business School Module Title TEC101 Professional Practice and Communication

You are the project manager for a mid-sized tech company that is set to launch a groundbreaking  new product in the next quarter. You are responsible for ensuring the on-time release of the  product, adhering to company standards and meeting market expectations. The research and  development (R&D) team has done its part and now the baton is passed to your team which is  tasked with production, quality assurance, and distribution.

Lately, you've encountered a series of challenges. Your primary supplier for a key component has  just informed you of a delay, which may push back the product release date. This has caused a ripple  effect down the supply chain, with potential bottlenecks in production and distribution.

Furthermore, one of your key team members, Raj, has been having personal issues which have  affected his work performance. He was once a star performer and a technical expert but is currently  struggling to keep up with his tasks. Other team members are growing resentful, as they are having  to pick up the slack, causing frictions within the team.

To add to the challenges, the company's major retailer has heard of potential delays and has  conveyed their concerns to the upper management. They are anxious since they have allocated  significant shelf space and marketing budget for the upcoming product. They've hinted that if the  product does not launch on time and meet the expected quality, they might reconsider their  contract terms for future deals.

Your role is to navigate these challenges, keeping the team cohesive, ensuring product quality,  managing stakeholder expectations, and making sure the product is launched successfully.
