Introduction (5 Marks)

Part 2: Easy read poster

In relation to your assignment topic develop an easy read poster for a person with an intellectual disability to help them to gain an understanding of the assignment topic. The poster must adhere to European Easy Read Standards and be uploaded in Part 2 of the assessment submission folder as a PDF document.

(40 marks)

  • Easy Read text and visuals must be used.
  • Students should format their easy read poster on a single PowerPoint slide.  This must be saved and submitted as a PDF file.

Poster Preparation Guidelines

The poster should include the following:

Content (10 marks) The poster title.

Aim of the poster.

Address the assignment topic comprehensively based on assignment readings.

Good knowledge of content & appropriate use of terminology.

N.B. If the poster addresses a topic other than that addressed in the assignment the poster will receive a mark of zero.

Application & Analysis (10 marks) Insightful application & examples.

Visual Presentation (20 marks) 

Adheres to European Easy Read Standards.

Demonstrates the use of plain language.

Appropriate use of colour,

Appropriate use of fonts (type and size),

Appropriate use of pictures,

Logical layout and sequence.

A legible account:  A poster should be legible with a design that is easy to follow and adheres to European Easy Read Standards using a blend of appropriate images and text.

A good summary of topic: A poster must summarise and communicate the research available on a topic in order to highlight the main points of a topic.  Application of topic: A poster should use relevant examples to demonstrate application of the topic for the person with an intellectual disability.
