The UM-Wales Faculty of Business deliver all modules at its main campuses in Kuala Lumpur. In the unlikely event of any discrepancy between the Academic Regulations and any other publication, including this module guide, the Academic Regulations, as the definitive document, take precedence over all other publications and will be applied in all cases.
The module requires the student to broaden a field of study by developing a systematic piece of research based upon a sound rationale, appropriately chosen research methodology and appropriate synthesis and presentation of both primary and secondary sources of data that takes into account both ethical and empirical limitations. Also, it will aim to show how the conclusions of the research are capable of more general application, either on a professional or theoretical basis. Preparation for the dissertation begins early as students develop analytical and other research skills throughout part one of the programme.
Like all modules at UM-Wales, this module is taught based on achieving intended learning outcomes. On successful completion of the module, the student will be expected to be able to demonstrate the following:
The assessment is based on meeting these learning outcomes, shown explicitly in section 4, where the assessment task is linked to these learning outcomes.
