The term “tourist” refers to the visitors who visit the region to stay there temporarily with the willingness to explore the place (UNWTO, 2010). The tourists are categorised or divided into different aspects such as business tourists, leisure tourists and bleisure tourists (Sharma, 2021). Explaining different tourist typologies, it is found that Plog’s Model mainly identifies two types of tourists such as psychocentric and allocentric (Jackson et al. 2001). On the other hand, the classification of Cohen in terms of tourists is mainly divided into individual mass tourists, mass tourists, explorers and others (Cohen, 1979). According to Smith, the level of interaction among tourists with the new culture mainly ranges from the explorers to the mass tourists (Uriely, 2005). The purpose of this essay is to analyse how the tourist type theories are closely associated with the attractions and the destinations. This essay will also identify my tourist types based on the theories and the type of attractions and destinations I mainly visit.
