This assessment is in Two parts of 600 words each, totalling 1200.

Question 1: You are required to compose a concise critical summary (précis) of around 600 words.

For this task, you are required to conduct a critical analysis by summarising four to five academic journal articles, focusing on their key issues, arguments, and conclusions.

 You will be provided with two core journal articles related to key theoretical perspectives on management of change in contemporary organisations, with a specific emphasis on the following areas: 

•  Organisational structure
•  Organisational culture 
• Conflict management

You are expected to identify and integrate insights from these articles and supplement your analysis with additional relevant literature to provide a well-rounded evaluation.

Guidelines for the Analysis:

Your analysis should maintain a clear focus on the management of change. The précis must be structured to include the following components:

•  An introduction 
• A well-developed main body
• A concise conclusion

Important: Do not include any subheadings within these sections of your précis. The writing should flow as a cohesive, continuous piece of critical analysis.

Question 2: You are required to compose a concise critical summary (précis) of around 600 words. 

You are required to produce a critical analysis summarising four to five academic journal articles, clearly identifying the key issues and conclusions presented in each. Two of these articles, which will be provided, are directly related to organisational behaviour across various organisational settings.

Your discussion should pay particular attention to complex scenarios influenced by changes in the external organisational environment. The focus of your analysis must remain on:

•  Organisational behaviour in any relevant context, AND 
•  The impact of the changing external environment on organisations

Your précis should reflect a critical understanding of the selected organisational behavioural journal articles and must be structured as follows: 

•  An introduction
•  A well-developed main body
•  A concise conclusion

Important: Do not include anu subheadings within these sections of your précis. The writing should flow as a cohesive, continuous piece of critical analysis.

For this assessment, your précis must be approximately 600 words for each of the questions and must include:

•  A title for each of the questions
• A summary of the main text in the articles in your own words by paraphrasing the themes in the articles for each of the questions
•  A critical analysis of the themes
• A flow in your analysis
• Citations from the articles
• A reference list made up of the articles in both questions (one reference list for both questions)

Your précis must NOT include:

• A list of contents
•  Subheadings
• Direct quotes from the articles
•  Your own opinions or critique of the article
• Descriptions (avoid descriptive analysis
• Bullet points or numbering

You will be provided with four journal articles in total – two for each question. In addition to the articles provided, you are expected to source an additional four to six academic journal articles that are relevant to the key elements of both questions.

Important: You must not use more than five journal articles per question, including those provided by your tutor.

• Please focus on the main arguments of each of the journal articles
• Avoid using jargons in your writing
• Use a font size of 12 with 1.5 spacing
• Remember your wordcount does NOT include the title and your reference list

You are required to attach the first page (cover page) of each journal article you have independently soured and used for both questions as appendices to your submission.

Please do not include the cover pages of the journal articles provided by your tutor

Wordcount:

The precis must not be longer than 1200 words (excluding diagrams, tables and quotations from academic references).

Wordcount does not include everything in the assignment. Wordcount starts from the ‘Introduction’ through to the conclusion’. This means that the:

Title page is NOT included in the wordcount.

Reference List is NOT included in the wordcount.

Appendices are NOT included in the wordcount.

Referencing

All your references must be from *credible sources such as peer-reviewed journal articles.

• Critically analyse key theoretical approaches to the management of change with reference to structure, culture, conflict.
• Critically examine organisational behaviour in a variety of contexts and develop discussion based on complex scenarios and the changing external environment.

• Global: The module equips students with essential skills and ability to contextualise managing people and organisations along a global paradigm and explore the problem/issue from a global perspective.
  
  
• Entrepreneurial: This module aims to encourage students to use their own initiative and resolve managing people and organisational issues for a smooth transformation of organisations.
