Project: Fashion in the Frame: Fashion History Presentation and Written Report
This assessment is worth 100% of the overall module mark
Explore the concepts and theories in critical studies of fashion and textiles. Understand the significance of critical thinking in examining fashion and textile practices. Analyse the social, cultural, and environmental implications of fashion and textiles.
Choose a decade or a significant period relating to fashion from the 20th century and then research and produce a visually rich presentation. Your written script for your presentation is the written part of the submission. Research a variety of sources.
Your presentation should be 10 minutes long and no more than 20 slides
Written component (script) should be 1500 words

The weekly FO 1001 sessions throughout Semester 2 will guide you through key areas/decades to help you complete this assessment. You will be introduced to research methods and case studies evidencing interdisciplinary approaches that are relevant to fashion and textile research.
The aim is to inspire and inform your own assignment and creative development.
There will be opportunities for tutorial support throughout Semester 2 to review your progress, to ask questions and to aid you in the completion of this work. You should use the timetabled time on Fridays (outside of the core teaching hours of 1:30 pm-3:00 pm) to independently undertake and complete research, reading and written work.
The following Learning Outcomes will be assessed for this assignment:
PROJECT WEIGHTING INFORMATION Within the module FQ1001, the presentation is worth 40% of the module mark, and the written element is worth 60%. This is referred to as the "Project Output" piece of assessment listed under Assessment Methods. Students must achieve a pass mark of 40% or more for this assignment.
If you submit work late, but within 5 working days of the published deadline, you will obtain a maximum mark of 40%. Any work submitted LATER than 5 working days will be awarded a mark of 0%.
