Assignment Task

You are to write a reflective report that analyses your skills as an interviewer (you can use first person where needed and must refer to research and theory to support your arguments).

1. You are to prepare for, facilitate, and close a live 10 – 15 minute job interview as part of a panel using a real-life company and agree on the job role being advertised. See Tasks 2 & 3 for preparation needed.

2. You must, as an individual (not team), create and submit your version of the relevant documentation listed below in the Appendices demonstrating relevant planning and fair recruitment practices. All of the documents should be referenced at the bottom as to what sources you used to be able to create your version.

  • feedback emails/letters to applicants
  • Feedback form from your assessor who witnesses your interviews

3. Before the interview/s, nominate one team member to submit their job advert to Moodle for me to issue to your group’s applicant/s in advance of the interviews (& person spec/job description if ready).

4. Write a 900-word reflection on your interviewing skills, including preparation and the live interview, outlining strengths and areas of development concerning theory to support arguments. You can use the WASP model and/or Planning, The Interview Itself, and Interview Closure as a structure as a guide. You should also refer to the feedback form given to you by your assessor and append this as further evidence.
