Assignment Details

Digital transformation is an exciting concept that can revolutionise how organisations do business and interact with customers. Many organisations have already embraced digital transformation and are seeing great success. This article explores 11 real-world examples of digital transformation that have taken place in the history of Digital transformation. From large corporations to small start-ups, these businesses have all adopted innovative strategies to leverage technology to their advantage and seize new opportunities. The article looks at the challenged they faced, how they overcame them, and what their successes can teach us about the power of digital transformation in the future.

For this assessment, you have been requested to provide a 2500-word overarching consultancy presentation (up to a maximum of 20 slides) based on any one of the organisations that have embarked on a digital transformation journey as described in the article https://quixy.com/blog/examples-of-digital-transformation/. The presentation will be PowerPoint slides with explanatory notes (an integrated PowerPoint feature used to expand on and justify the key points presented on each slide without repeating slide content; notes count toward the word limit, and slides should be used effectively), which must critically address the following:

Task 1: Project Selection (LO1)

Review the corporate website of your chosen organisation, examine its strategic goals and directions and based on this research, explain and justify the types of projects that the chosen organisation should embark on. This should be followed by a critical justification of a suitable project screening and selection method to be adopted. Support your arguments with academic literature and references to other similar real projects.

Please note that to approach this task, you need to conduct a thorough analysis of the company in your chosen scenario and give them general recommendations on how to select projects. You do not need to focus on the specific project presented in the article.

Task 2: The Organisational Context (LO2)

This part of the presentation focuses on the specific project presented in your chosen scenario (from the article). Based on your previous discussion of the company’s strategic goals and directions, critically discuss how, in your opinion, the project is linked to the company’s strategic choice (you should use relevant frameworks or theoretical models to support your discussion). Support your arguments with academic literature and references to other similar real projects. Following this, recommend and critically justify a suitable organisational structure that the organisation should adopt to improve the likelihood of project success.

Task 3: Project Governance (LO3)

This part of the presentation should provide advice on governance of projects in the organisation. You should recommend a suitable project governance framework that can support and improve project execution for your scenario project. You should also critique some of the implementation issues that you see for the organisation pursuing this goal. Support your arguments with academic literature and references to other similar real projects.

Task 4: Managing and Leading Change (LO4)

Evaluate the role of leadership in the successful delivery of the project of your selected scenario. Then advise the company of your chosen scenario about how change management can be incorporated into the project in a structured manner, and how to manage resistance to change. Support your arguments with academic literature and references to other similar real projects.

Please refer to the marking criteria (below) for a breakdown of how the tasks will be marked.
