The Assignment Task

This SC1 Assignment was developed to meet the LO’s 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6.

• Identify key ethical issues facing contemporary business.
• Analyze the implications of business decisions on society.
• Analyze the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and sustainability strategies and actions.
• Describe primary ethical theories such as utilitarianism, Kantian, and virtue ethics.
• Explain the importance of effective corporate governance, ethical theories to a specific dilemma in business
• Demonstrate skills of research, analysis, and written / oral communication

SC1: Groupwork Presentation, oral with power point slides with no more than 1000 words (not including tables, figures, references, appendixes). All members of the group will need to present the plan.

Students are required to orally present 10 minutes of a governance and social responsibility plan for a new business. The oral presentation will highlight mainly the code of conduct and the workplace and diversity

policy, and climate change and environmental risks. Students are required to incorporate theory to support decisions proposed in a professional format. Important: Submission of the final presentation (power point in pdf format) must be done one day before the presentation date.

The governance and social responsibility plan will include the topics suggested and/or include others that will be adapted to the business defined from the case study.

• Workplace and Diversity Policy and Climate Change and Environmental Risks (20%)

Presentation

• Work must be referenced, and a bibliography provided, when necessary.
• Work in Power Point must be submitted as a PDF file (.pdf) with one slide per page.
• Coursework must be submitted using Arial font size 20 (or larger if necessary).
• The students’ number must appear at the front of the coursework. The students’ name must not be on
  your coursework.
• Adheres to the structure provided.
• Spelling, grammar, and punctuation is accurate.
• Application of theory and skills of Responsible Business throughout the plan.
• Work is logically structured and coherent throughout.
