Module Synopsis 

This module recognises the contribution of Human Resource Management to the strategic operation of the international hospitality enterprise and provides students with the opportunity to undertake a critical appraisal of the function of human resource management in the international hospitality industry. The module will review the concepts that underpin international human resource management and will provide a critical appraisal of contemporary issues in international hospitality management.

There is no doubt that the international hospitality management sector has suffered significantly following the Covid-19 global pandemic.  This module will provide students with the opportunity to evaluate some of the challenges within the industry and will assess some of the solutions inspired by human resource management practice and theory.

Module Learning Outcomes

On completion of the module, you should be able to:

LO1 Identify and assess a range of human resource management practices in evidence in the international hospitality industry sector.
LO2 Identify the importance of inclusive human resource management in the international hospitality industry sector.
LO3 Identify and critically assess the benefits and challenges associated with the management of employee wellbeing in the international hospitality workforce.
