Task Outline

The assignment is designed to help you consider and evaluate the potential philosophical position and methodology you could take to deliver your research project. With this in mind the assignment is designed to enable to rework your original submission to this assignment. The work requires you to critically evaluate two philosophical approaches and must be related to your area of study. You will identify a specified research problem and consider how the nature of the emergent research question differs in line with the Research philosophy.  

Research Plan 1:

For your specific research problem, formulate a research question, design, and methodology based on a selected research philosophy. Discuss how this philosophy influences your research question, methodology, data collection, and analysis: (35%)
 

Research Plan 2:

For your particular research problem, you are required to revise the research question, design, and methods according to a different research philosophy. Within this context, examine how the chosen research philosophy influences your research question, methodology, data collection strategies, and techniques for analysing data. (35%)
 

Reflective piece

Consider the two research strategies identified in plan 1 and 2. Consider which of the two research strategies best meets your understanding of the research problem and contributes most to the furthering of knowledge, reflecting your vision of the nature of the research problem. You are required to critically evaluate, reflect and appraise the two approaches and select the approach most suitable to resolving the research problem with justification of your choice. (30%).

Presentation Requirements

The work should be presented as one Word Document and submitted via Turnitin. The work should be no longer the 4000 words, not including title page and references.
Font size should be no smaller than 11 point.

If the written feedback provided is unclear you are advised to contact the module leader/module tutor to provide clarification.

Your marked assignment should be returned by the date stated on the brief. If this will not be possible, the module leader/module tutor will advise students of the expected return date. If you do not receive your mark and feedback by this date, please ask your Course Tutor to contact the relevant Head of Department to advise them of this delay.
