You are required to produce a research paper, which evaluates and discusses the key elements of your research thesis project.

Additional advice will be given in sessions. There is also additional guidance on Moodle.

•    Give yourself plenty of time to write up and remember that supervisory staff tend to be on annual leave July-August.
•    Communicate regularly with your supervisor(s)
•    Adhere to the draft deadlines set by the module lead and your supervisors.

Learning outcomes assessed

1.    Demonstrate knowledge of relevant literature and of research methods in to identify areas for investigation and to develop a feasible research plan relevant to the programme of study.
2.    Demonstrate an ability to identify any ethical or regulatory issues related to the proposed study and obtain approval from the appropriate body.
3.    Develop personal research skills (and laboratory skills if appropriate) through use of academic literature, data collection and data analysis in order to undertake a Master's level research dissertation
4.    Synthesise findings from your own research with the research and scholarship of others.
5.    Critically discuss the completed project highlighting the strengths, limitations and implications for future study and/or investigation
