The development of your 30-point research project proposal should be informed by discussion with your supervisor and the Assessment 1 Poster Presentation.

You must complete the following sections of the form; word counts are provided here for guidance only.
1. Working Title (10-15 words)
Provide the current proposed title of your research. Usually, the title embodies the research question and methodology.
2. Research Question (10-20 words)
Clearly state the research question. The research question should be clear and focused and summarises the issue you will investigate.
3. Abstract (150-200 words)
Provide a brief, non-technical summary of your research proposal. Include topic/aim, nursing professional/practice setting, problem/issue, methodology, significance. Write this section last. Avoid references in the abstract for claims that will be referred to in the proposal.
4. Literature/Past Research Review (500-750 words)
The review of literature along with other sources as appropriate, should define key concepts and terms, and provide a brief synthesis of the existing knowledge in the field. The literature review should illustrate where the proposed research may extend, contribute to, or address gaps in the current body of knowledge.
5. Design/Plan of the Study (750-1,000 words)
Describe and justify your overarching methodology and research design. Briefly discuss the research paradigm, underpinning theoretical frameworks, and methodology. Describe and justify the sample, sampling/recruitment strategy, data collection and analysis methods.
6. Ethics (50-150 words)
The key ethical considerations to be addressed in the research. As ethical approval is not required for this small 30pt project, please include a statement identifying the reasons why the approval is not required.
7. N.B. Cultural Considerations (250-300 words)
Ensure cultural considerations are thoughtfully incorporated throughout your research proposal, including in the background, methodology, and methods sections where relevant. Identify the social, cultural, and ethnic groups likely to take part, benefit from, or be impacted by your research. Discuss the relevance of your proposed research to tāngata whenua specifically. Identify how commitment to te Tiriti o Waitangi is reflected in the proposed design and conduct of this research.
Provide a comprehensive timeline for completion of the research using a Gantt chart or similar.
