The aim of your placement is to increase your employability. This is defined as the set of competencies, demonstrated by a combination of knowledge, skills, and behaviours, that make individuals more likely to gain employment and be successful in their chosen occupation, benefiting themselves, the workforce, the community, and the economy. The first Reflective Report encouraged you to reflect on the Knowledge, Skills, and Behaviours you have developed.
This, your final report, relates directly to the Learning Outcomes for this module. You should use your reflections in your previous report to enable you to complete the template below using the headings provided.
IMPORTANT – PLEASE NOTE: These reflective reports determine whether you pass your placement year. Please note penalties for non-submission or late submission, unless you have had an Extenuating Circumstances claim accepted, will apply to these assignments. Late or non-submissions (or indeed failure to achieve the pass mark) could affect your eligibility for the Industrial Practice endorsement.

2b) Reflecting on your experiences so far in your Industrial Placement, what external influences can impact on the operational environment? To describe what these are, and their impact, using a business analytical tool may help. You may wish to reflect on your answer to question 5a) in the first assignment. 4) Prepare an outline of a Professional/Personal Development Plan for a five-year period following the completion of your MSc with IP. You will need to do the following: - a) Carry out a self-assessment i.e., skills, competencies, strengths, etc. b) Identify your goals which can be short, medium, and long term. Use of SMART may assist you. c) Develop a plan to achieve the goals. d) Underline the resources you may need i.e., training/professional development. |

5) Develop a ‘refined’ plan that covers your response to Q4) above, in particular the competencies required to demonstrate your readiness for chartership. Refer to the relevant specification (i.e., CSci or CEng) to identify those outstanding attributes (skills, competencies, experiences, etc.). You may find it easier to compare directly with the examples given in the respective Chartership tables. Use a Gannt chart or a table to lay out your plan. Any competencies not achieved in the first 5 years can be planned for future acquisition, i.e., from the 5th to the 10th year. |
