Learning Outcomes 

LO1 Independently formulate a refined research question about a matter of concern and design a competent and defensible study, or systematic review, to explore it.

LO2: Demonstrate a critical consciousness of the ethics of educational research generally and within the particular area of inquiry and, where required, prepare a defensible application for ethical approval.

LO3: Present a systematic and critical interpretation of the main body or bodies of knowledge underpinning the research.

LO4: Exhibit an informed understanding of the methodological traditions and strategies used in the dissertation and the strengths and limitations of these about a wider range of approaches.

LO5: Demonstrate competent use of theoretical frameworks, concepts and methodologies in research and writing.

LO6: Develop the craft and skills of scholarly writing for academics and the wider public.
