EDM9781M Education Dissertation Assessment Guidance

The dissertation provides you with an opportunity to demonstrate the skills and abilities you have acquired during the taught element of the degree to develop a substantial research project. You will be expected to draw upon your knowledge and understanding of public health to provide a clear and detailed rationale for your chosen research topic, which demonstrates a critical appreciation of relevant literature that has been identified by a systematic and sustained search process.

This module will support students in carrying out independent research on a topic directly related to their working context and/or program specialisation. It will help students to identify a contemporary managerial problem that is sufficiently complex to warrant investigation and identify possible solutions.

No more than 2,000 words, excluding footnotes and bibliography. No more than 6,000 words excluding reference list, bibliography, appendices, the cover page, abstract, glossary and list of tables, figures, charts and abbreviation.
