Download 2 Python (.py) files from Akoraka|Learn on the COMP636 Assessment page:
- nzoc_admin_[your_name].py
- nzoc_admin_data.py
These files contain the beginnings of a program to manage the New Zealand teams for the Winter Olympics. The system allows user to list events, teams and members and to edit team details. You are provided with an outline of the program that you are asked to complete.
Add to the existing system so that
1. All events can be listed in alphabetical order by name, including displaying the NZ team name.
2. All teams can be listed in alphabetical order by name.
3. The details for a member can be updated.
a. When each value is updated, it should match the data type indicated in the column details variable.
b. Updates to team membership should be to a valid team that exists.]
4. All members can be listed in alphabetical order by last name, then first name.
5. Members can be listed grouped into teams, with members ordered by last name then first name within each team.
Notes:
- The main program is in the ‘nzoc_admin_[your_name].py’ file. Rename the file to include your name
- The data used by the main program is stored in lists in ‘nzoc_admin_data.py’ and is linked to the main program by an import statement, so the two files must be saved in the same folder.
colTeams, colEvents and colMembers list the column names and their data types.
dbTeams, dbEvents and dbMembers are lists of tuples containing the corresponding data and updated data should also retain this list-tuple structure.
- The provided file contains a menu structure and partially completed functions, these must not be deleted or renamed. You may add additional functions of your own though, if you wish.
The columnOutput() function may be used to help format your output
- Add additional comments to your code that make it clear what each part of the code is doing, without having to read and interpret the code, e.g., “# print all items in selected row”.
The existing comments give some hints about the behaviour expectations of each function.
- The interface and output should be presented to a tidy professional standard (within the limitations of the text-only input/output) with useful prompts, headings, functionality, etc.
