Introduction:

This Assessment Pack consists of a detailed assignment brief, guidance on what you need to prepare, and information on how class sessions support your ability to complete successfully. You’ll also find information on this page to guide you on how, where, and when to submit. If you need additional support, please make a note of the services detailed in this document. 

Preparing for your assignment: The brief

Illustrate your understanding of the business landscape by producing a blog of 2000 words (+/- 10%) that discusses the main issue that you believe is currently impacting on organisations within the marketing, consumer, people, economic and operational landscape. Within each section, discuss how these main issue are impacting on organisations and provide a supporting rationale as to why you believe this to be the case. 

Assessment 1 – Marking Criteria:

Presentation of Blog 

Produce a Blog using the template provided, ensuring that all sections are completed.Clearly referenced using Harvard standards with a references list.

Application and Understanding 

Use of reliable theory (from texts, journal, and reliable news) to support understanding of the contemporary issues within the landscape of business. Theory will have been used to explain contemporary issues with the business landscape and to support the rationale provided by the student.

Organisational impact 

Use of reliable theory (from texts, journals, and reliable news) along with business led examples to support with recognition of the impact of the current business landscape on organisations.
Preparing for your assignment: Assessment support

 An assessment briefing session will take place in week 2. Students will be given the opportunity to develop their understanding of the assessment requirements as well as ask questions.
 Module workshops will focus on developing the required understanding on the various landscape areas. Each workshop will have a short overview about how the material covered in that session can be used for the assessment. Workshops will also offer the opportunity to ask assessment related questions.
 The seminar/tutorial sessions will have a bi-weekly formative feedback opportunity where students will be able to gain tutor feedback on a 1-2-1 basis on work completed. Tutors will also offer feedback as part of action learning sets with other students. Students will be encouraged to meet with tutors a maximum of once a month to discuss assessment progress and seek out
assessment development opportunities.
