Guidelines for assessors

The assignments submitted by learners must achieve the learning outcomes and meet the standards specified by the assessment criteria for the unit. To achieve a merit or distinction grade, the learners must demonstrate that they have achieved all the criteria set for these grades. Where work for the pass standard is marginal, assessors can take into account any extension work completed by the learners. The suggested evidence listed below is how learners can demonstrate that they have met the required standards. The command verbs contained within the AC are highlighted in bold in the suggested evidence boxes.

The analysis should include both positive and negative aspects of the leadership or management. 3D1 is synoptic in nature and assesses learning across LO2 and LO3. Learners need to analyse the potential impact of ineffective leadership and management on employees. In the analysis, the learners should break the impact into separate parts and examine each part in detail. They should identify the main issues and include reference to current research or theory if appropriate. The analysis can be supported with examples which can be from the learner's workplace or other experiences. The analysis should consider the impact on employees, but also how this might impact the organisation. Conclusions should be drawn.
4D1 Learners must evaluate how employees are motivated in a named organisation. In the analysis, the learners should break the motivation methods into separate parts and examine each part in detail.
