Scenario:

Elon Musk is a globally recognised entrepreneur and leader whose communication style, interpersonal conduct, and collaborative approaches have consistently drawn media attention and public debate.

Musk operates across a complex web of organisational, technological, and political domains. His communication approaches across these entities and with the US government showcase both innovative strategies and significant challenges in organisational communication and collaboration.

This module invites you to critically examine Musk’s communication and collaboration practices in different contexts, assessing how his personal style, the organisational cultures he influences, and broader structural factors impact collaborative outcomes.

Task:

Produce a 10-minute individual video presentation that critically analyses Elon Musk's communication and collaboration strategies across his various organisational roles, addressing:

Musk's communication strategies across organisations with varying structures, cultures, and stakeholders.
The effectiveness of his communication methods in organisational goals
How his personal communication style influences organisational cultures.
Referencing relevant communication theories and frameworks.
The impact of his communication approaches on stakeholder relations

Included within your presentation a 2-minute reflection (using Kolbs Reflective Model) of your own communication and collaboration skills, identifying specific strengths and areas for development in your interpersonal communication.

Explain how this analysis has shaped your understanding of effective organisational communication and collaborative working.
Outline a development plan to improve your own communication and collaborative capabilities.

Submission Instructions:

The individual PowerPoint should be loaded into the PowerPoint template which has been supplied. The cover page should be used, and all references should be correctly referenced.

The video presentation should be recorded using ClipChamp within your University Microsoft 365 account, and the recording link must be added to the template which has been provided, with access to the recording link set to ‘Anyone in Coventry University’. Failure to follow the support guidelines and these steps will result in your assignment being marked as a Fail.

Students must be visible throughout the presentation.

The PowerPoint and video presentation link should be submitted to the relevant module submission link on Aula, on or before the 6pm due date deadline.
