This assessment is an individual coursework whereby students are asked to analyse a leadership case study. The assessment requires students to evaluate leadership effectiveness through building on material learned throughout the module to assess the leadership styles and practices depicted in the case as well as provide recommendations for leadership development. In doing so, students are expected to draw on theory and empirical evidence to support their argumentation and to practically assess the feasibility of their recommendations.

Task:

• Drawing upon theory and research evidence relevant to the ULMS821- Strategic Leadership and Effective People Management module, analyse the LR Services case study by addressing each of the following three questions:
• Drawing upon relevant theory and research evidence, provide an analysis of Victor’s leadership style and the extent to which is it effective at LR Services.
• Compare and contrast Victor’s leadership style to TWO other examples of leadership described in the case study.
• Drawing on the literature on leadership development and coaching, provide a set of practical recommendations for how to improve Victor’s leadership effectiveness in future. Ensure that your recommendations are both properly justified and practically feasible.
