This assessment will formally assess learning outcomes 4, 5 & 6, as identified in the module specification.

Working on this assessment will help you to develop business information systems and applications, and present those solutions to a “business client” in a role-playing scenario.

C. Mobile Application Prototype (Individual) - 20%

You will find in Appendix 1, a brief description of “UWE SwapConnect” Case Study. You are required to interview a key member of UWE to gain a clear understanding of the organisation, its current position and its major objectives for the future. The requirement gathering meeting with the client will be scheduled to last for 20 minutes; each member of your team will be expected to make an equal contribution to the meeting. Before the meeting, you will need to submit (as a group) the documentation for the preparation of the meeting as well as anagenda for the meeting (which clearly identifies the part of each team member). The documentation should contain the analysis of the case study using SWOT, PESTLE and Porter’s Five Forces Model. The agenda should clearly identify the different themes under
which the questions are structured as well as list the questions for each theme accordingly. The feedback form used to assess the requirement gathering meeting can be found in Appendix 2.

Please note for Part B, as a group you are required to write 500-word critical analysis of how Generative AI (Microsoft Copilot) was used throughout the assessment, both in group work and individual tasks. This analysis should include:
1. Identification of AI Usage:
• List specific tasks where AI tools were employed
2. Benefits and Limitations:
• Analyze how AI tools enhanced productivity or creativity
• Discuss any limitations or challenges encountered when using AI
• Compare the quality of AI-generated content with manually created content
3. Ethical Considerations:
• Reflect on potential ethical issues related to AI use in academic work
• Discuss how you ensured academic integrity while using AI tools
• Consider broader implications of AI in software development and business analysis
4. Impact on Learning Outcomes:
• Evaluate how AI usage affected your understanding of key concepts
• Discuss any skills you developed through using AI tools
• Reflect on areas where AI may have limited your learning
5. Personal Reflection:
• Share your personal views on the role of AI in your future career
• Discuss how this experience has changed your perspective on AI in education and industry
This critical analysis will demonstrate your ability to reflect on and evaluate the use of cutting-edge technologies in your academic and professional work.
Based on the group work from Part A and B, now individually, you are required to produce a prototype for UWE SwapConnect mobile application using Microsoft PowerApps. The design and precise functionality of the prototype should be based on the requirements gathered during the client meeting and subsequent analysis.
As a group, you are required to do a presentation, which will include the following:
• A brief overview of the current business and system highlighting the problems faced by Holloways.
• Functional requirements
• Non-functional requirements
• Prioritisation of functional and non-function requirements
• Business process modelling diagrams (use case and activity diagrams)
• Entity Relation Diagram for the proposed application.
• Terms of Reference
Individually, you are required to do a demo, which will include the following:
1. Mobile application (developed using Microsoft PowerApps)
• Features based on requirements and prioritisation aligned from Part A and B
• Level of completeness of features
• Strength/weaknesses
• Future version features, etc.
• Answer any questions
