Patchwork text – Patch 3 & Patch 4 |
WRIT2 |
50% |
|
To pass this module you must achieve an overall module mark of at least 50%. There are two assessments, equally weighted. |
||
The assessment package for this module is based on a 'patchwork text' approach. Across the whole module, you will complete 4 short written 'patches' of approximately 1250 words each, that enable you to practice and demonstrate your research skills.
WRIT1 comprises the final two patches, Patch 3 and Patch 4. These are briefly summarised below:
Patch 3: Qualitative research case study - evaluation of methods and analysis of data (50 marks)
Patch 4: Reflection on the development of your research skills - the 'stitching' that draws together what you have learned from the other patches (50 marks)
Patches 1 and 2 are covered in assessment WRIT1, please see the separate assessment briefing (available on Moodle).
Formative feedback and discussion
Throughout the module, you will have the opportunity to check your understanding of key concepts through online e-learning activities, and to receive formative feedback from staff and/or peers through the pathway-specific workshops/support. We encourage you to revise your final 'patches' to take this formative feedback into account.
Please note: the pathway-specific workshops/support are your opportunity for formative feedback on your studies - please ensure that you are up-to-date with the e-learning and attend those workshops prepared to discuss what you have covered in the e-learning, and the progress you have made with your assessment patches.
Full details of each patch are provided via the resources on the Assessment & Feedback tile of the SHS7000 Moodle module, where you will also find written and video guidance on how to approach each patch.
