This module is designed to enable students to understand the process of planning, conducting and evaluating research in events and allied sectors.  

Module Learning Outcomes

  1. Analyse the major debates and perspectives taken in management research and event evaluation to critically assess the related range of conceptual or theoretical frameworks and research methods.
  2. Conceive and define research problems and select appropriate research methods and techniques for research projects and the evaluation of events. 
  3. Formulate a plan to gather, collate, analyse, interpret, present and evaluate appropriate data to meet research objectives.
  4. Explain and account for cultural and ethical issues in research, and recognise the existence of and potential for bias in different research techniques.

Prepare a proposal for a feasible research project.

  • For those who are finishing their second Semester and about to start their research project, the proposal should focus on the planned project.
