PSY4073 Capstone Project Assignment 

1. Proposal

• The proposal was submitted and marked in PSY4029 Professional Issues and Practices in Psychology. The Capstone Project supervisor can advise students to amend and redevelop the proposal, based on their expertise. The project title must be approved by supervisors BEFORE the ethics application and data collection.

2.Project presentation

• You need to present your Capstone Project before submitting your final report. You are required to submit a 10-minute presentation video to Moodle. The presentation should be submitted to Moodle before 13 Mar 2026.
• Please be serious in preparing your presentation and presenting your project. You are expected to incorporate your supervisor’s and classmates’ constructive comments in your final report.

3. Final report

• Content should include the points suggested in the Capstone Handbook.
• Cover sheet and Declaration sheet should be included.
• Submission date:
• The APA style should be followed for citation and referencing.
• Word limit for Capstone Project: around 4,000 words

4. Meeting with your supervisor

As a mature university student and a future teacher, you should always take the initiative in learning and meeting your supervisor. Please be proactive in this course.

There should be at least two meetings with specific purposes:

1).1st meeting; in the first semester: introduce your projects and report any progress/revisions made since your initial project proposals in phase I.

2).2nd meeting; in the second semester: report and discuss progress of data collection and difficulties encountered.

Individual supervisors decide when and where to have these 2 meetings.

5. Ethics Applications

• It normally takes about a month to get the approval. To avoid further delay, students are advised to apply as soon as the proposal is agreed upon by their supervisor.

6. E-announcement

• Students will be invited to the course evaluation session. The exact date, time andvenue will be announced via email.

7. Respect your supervisors

• As a mature university student and a future teacher, you should respect your supervisors, who should be the first ones to seek advice related to the Capstone Project. It is inappropriate for students to bypass their supervisors and approach the course coordinator directly. If you have anything related to the course to reflect on, please tell your supervisors first, and your supervisors will discuss it with the course coordinator.

8. Check points

• The system of checkpoints is implemented to monitor your progress. The following dates are the deadlines of the respective stages.
