What knowledge and/or skills will I develop by undertaking the assessment?

By studying module NUM089, you will develop exposure to the language of digital health and digital literacy. You will gain an understanding of the importance of information governance, data handling and protecting personal and professional information. As part of studying for the summative assessment, you will explore digital innovation in depth related to your area of professional practice. Finally, you will be aware of the impact of change management when exploring your chosen digital innovation in your own area of professional practice.

On successful completion of the assessment students will be able to achieve the following Learning Outcomes:

1. Critique the definitions, components and application of digital literacy in health and social care.

2. Appraise the challenges and opportunities of digital health innovations in relation to digital literacy within their own professional practice

3. Analyse the impact of service change management within their own professional practice, in terms of innovative digital technologies.

4. Make informed judgement about information governance, data handling and protecting personal information relating to their own professional practice

Task(s) - Content

The assessment consists of a written assignment which appraises the impact of a hypothetical digital innovation within your own area of professional practice. Your discussion should critique the definitions related to digital literacy and appraise the challenges, and opportunities of introducing such a digital innovation, in terms of digital service change management and related information governance and data handling.
