MPM7001 Task\Assessment Brief:

In the resubmission of WRIT1, you will develop a Project Plan. The suggestion is that you work on the same project from your initial submission, as you have received feedback. However, you can choose another project. The project plan is based on the contents of the lectures and seminars in the module. Remember that the project needs to be a new one based on your creativity. You cannot choose a project that is already done. The project will include the following contents:

• Project Scope Management
     A. Scope statement (scope description, deliverables, acceptance criteria, exclusions).
     B. Work Breakdown Structure (WBS).
• Project Schedule Management
    A. Network precedence diagram
    B. Critical path
    C. Gantt Chart, including the milestones.
• Project Resource Management
    A. RACI chart.
    B. Resource Breakdown Structure
• Risk
    A. Risk Breakdown Structure
    B. Probability and impact matrix
    C. Contingencies and management reserves
• Costs
    A. Budget at completion
    B. Cost baseline
• Stakeholders
    A.Stakeholder matrix
    B. Cultural considerations
• Communications
    A. Communications matrix
• Quality
   A. Quality requirements and standards

Submission Details

Moodle/Turnitin:

Any assessments submitted after the deadline will not be marked and will be recorded as a non-attempt unless you have had an extension request agreed or have approved mitigating circumstances. See the School Moodle pages for more information on extensions and mitigating circumstances.

File Format:

The assessment must be submitted as a PDF document (save the document as a PDF in your software) and submitted through the Turnitin submission point in Moodle.

This includes elements of the Cardiff Met EDGE (Ethical, Digital, Global and Entrepreneurial skills) and other attributes developed in students through the completion of the module and assessment. These will also be highlighted in the module guidance, which should be read by all students completing the module. Assessments are not just a way of auditing student knowledge. They are a process that provides additional learning and development through the preparation for and completion of the assessment.

• Use of appropriate Academic Writing standards and formats and understanding the importance of correctly attributing the work of others through citations, quotations and correctly formatted reference lists. Avoiding plagiarism, copying and pasting of ideas or images.
• Using digital tools to develop analytical models.
• Understand that Project Management represents a mindset as well as a set of tools and techniques that can be applied to a variety of activity systems to deliver value.
• Demonstrate that application of critical thinking skills in the demonstration of application of knowledge is the key to the development of an analytical rather than descriptive narrative and is the expected standard for master’s level work.
