Specification

The purpose of this coursework is to allow you to demonstrate your understanding of material covered in the Big Data Landscape module. Initially, you are required to study your allocated public dataset to gain a thorough understanding of it. This is followed by appropriate analysis and visualization, aligned with answering a specific chosen question, that you consider provides value from your dataset.

The work to be undertaken is split into the tasks listed in this specification.

Task 1

Explore and study your allocated public dataset and provide:

1.  A detailed overview, in your own words, of the dataset.
2. An appraisal of the quality of the dataset in terms of the integrity rules covered in lectures. You must use the Google BigQuery Console to create and execute any SQL code you create when undertaking your appraisal and your code must be accompanied by explanative narrative. Python code should not be used in this task. 
3.  A single question that you consider, if answered, will provide reasonable value from your dataset. You should include an explanation in your narrative concerning who you consider would benefit from this value and why they would benefit.

Task 2

Using your question, undertake the following work on your allocated dataset:

1. Use the Google BigQuery Console to create all the appropriate SQL code required to enable you to answer your question and to also deal with any quality issues identified in task 1.
2. Create a Google Colab notebook that includes your SQL code as well as Python code that allows your SQL code to be executed using BigQuery. Your Python code must also store the information obtained that answers your question in Google Cloud Storage.

Task 3

Visualize the information, now present in Google Cloud Storage, in a manner of your choosing, that you consider clearly communicates your findings and the value obtained.
