Tasks – Academic Blog 

• Students are required to write an Academic Blog Post on a topic you choose related to the complex interactions between culture, women and international relations. 
• Your Academic Blog Post provides you with an opportunity to test an idea, concept or debate. They are written to reach a wider audience, including the general public. It will allow you to use your writing skills to draw out knowledge and essential information from your readings to present a concise and readable piece as a blog post. 

Written communication and referencing conventions 

• Write in a clear and appropriate style for the task; 
• Show a clear command of spelling, punctuation and grammar, sentence structure  and paragraph formation;  

Follow Harvard referencing and citation conventions or consistent use of another referencing style (such as MLA, MHRA). 

Learning Outcomes

• Demonstrate a systematic understanding of concepts and theoretical frameworks relevant to the intersection of international politics, security studies and cognate fields of study.  
• Apply academic knowledge, concepts, and theories to critically analyse the complexity of international politics, contemporary security challenges and associated issues, with local, national, and regional implications.

• Demonstrate independent research skills to analyse data and engage with and utilize a range of media in a responsible and appropriate way.
