Objectives of Management

Objectives of organisation structures:

• Economic and efficient performance of the organisation and levels of resource utilisation Meaning?
•  Monitoring the activities of the organisation
•  Accountability for areas of work undertaken by groups and individual members of the organisation
• Co-ordination of different parts of the organisation and different areas of work
• Flexibility to respond to future demands
• Adaptation to internal and external environments
• Social satisfaction of members

Organisation structures

3 ‘types’ of organisations:
‘Public sector’ organisations
Objectives: to supply services at the cheapest possible cost
e.g. NHS, Police, County Councils, Fire Service, etc.

‘Private sector’ organisations
Objectives: to generate profit and income / dividends for the owners or shareholders
e.g. Tesco, Shell, British Airways, Rolls-Royce, Jaguar LandRover, Starbucks, etc.

Assignment Development

Section 1:

(maximum word count: 1,000 words) a Personal SWOT Analysis with a PDP (Personal Development Plan) that will plan and identify your potential future leadership, based on the results of your Potential.ly Personality Profile report. In addition, you will include an Appendices in your Portfolio with your Potential.ly Personality report you have created

For each of the areas in the Personal SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats), you are required to identify your 5 personal skills (from your Potential.ly report) in each area, i.e.:

• 5 ‘Strengths’
• 5 ‘Weaknesses’
• 5 ‘Opportunities’
• 5 ‘Threats
