Scenario (Context):

Based on your research and the fashion collection strategy developed in assignment 9, you will now develop designs for the six-outfit collection that you have been tasked with by your new employer (the new brand you created in assignment 9).

Throughout this assignment, you will show your development work for this six-outfit collection in your digital sketchbook. While experimenting with design ideas, you should also develop your own style throughout this work. The final six-outfit collection must be presented on presentation boards. The style of the boards should closely relate to your research and be representative of your own personal style.

Task 1

Create a six-outfit collection: In your digital sketchbook, experiment with different design ideas ensuring that you retain the brand ethos and identity of your new brand throughout.
Produce 3-5 colour-rendered development sketches per garment and in annotations clearly explain how these designs meet the brand ethos that you established in Task 1 in assignment 9. From your development sketches, choose the final six outfits that will define your fashion collection.
Clearly label the six chosen outfits and explain, using annotations, how they reflect your fashion brand ethos and how the outfits have been influenced by current and future trends.

Task 2

To understand how the design will work as a finished garment, you will need to apply a variety of quality control measures. The results of your quality control measures may result in changes in your fabric selection but overall, it will allow you to make the most appropriate material choices.

1. In your digital sketchbook, create technical drawings ("flats") of your final garments showing the front and back view of your garments as well as the seams, location of openings, buttons, zippers, and stitching details, as required.
2. Take the fabrics you identified for this collection in assignment 9 and test them in relation to their structure or drape by pinning the fabrics on your mini mannequin. Document the development process with photographs and annotations in your digital sketchbook.
3. Include technical information on each selected fabric (add the information provided by the supplier, such as weight, composition, width, cost, reference, care instructions, etc.). Add this information to samples of the material in your digital sketchbook and explain in annotations whether the qualities of the materials are suitable for the designs.

Task Two Deliverable:

Task 3

You are now at the final presentation stage of your design development. Create a presentation board for your final six-outfit collection includingbrand logo, fabric swatches and rendered fashion illustrations. The presentation should reflect creativity and your own style.
Task Three Deliverable:

Task 4

Consider the work that you have done for assignments 9 and 10. Write a short essay (200-250 words) identifying areas within your fashion collection strategy that worked well and areas that would need further development. Evaluate areas within your fashion collection that could be improved in order to enhance future developments of your fashion collection.
