Assessment task details - provide a description of the task

This coursework comprises of an assignment which includes theoretical study, mathematical modelling, literature review, modelling, simulations, results & discussions, optimisation, and post-processing. The assignment comprises of two
tasks for which the details are pasted below. The final submission should be in
 
the form of a research paper. The research paper should be written in IEEE format. A format of the research paper is also shared along with this brief.

Part 1: Modelling and Simulation of a Fuzzy-supervised Speed Controller for a DC Motor.

This task involves modelling and simulation of an advanced controller for DC motors. The controller must be adaptive using Fuzzy Supervised techniques. This task can be carried out in the following steps:

  • Step 1: Study of the background theory about Fuzzy Logic and Fuzzy Supervised Controllers. Carry out a research based on literature review to critically analyse and compare the performance of traditional and fuzzy-based controllers.
  • Step 2: Model a Fuzzy-supervised controller (PI or PID) on Simulink software.
  • Step 3: Simulate and present the results of the software model.
  • Step 4: Investigate and discuss different parameters of the model and their effect on the overall system’s performance.

Part 2: Modelling and Simulation of a Stabilization Controller for a Helicopter.

This task involves modelling, simulation, and performance investigation of a control system for stabilization of a helicopter. This task can be carried out in the following steps:

  • Step 1: Study the stabilization mechanism of a helicopter or any rotor craft. Carry out a literature review based on similar models from IEEE, MDPI or any other renowned publisher.
  • Step 2: Model a Stabilization Controller for a helicopter on Simulink/MATLAB/Simscape or any other software.
  • Step 3: Simulate and present the results of the software model.
  • Step 4: Investigate and discuss different parameters of the model and their effect on the overall system’s performance.
