Intended learning outcomes:

This assessment is assessing the following unit learning outcomes:

ILO1: Recognise the implications of business analytics for productivity, responsible innovation, and environmental and social responsibility.
ILO2: Apply appropriate theoretical frameworks to critically analyse the organisational, ethical, and societal implications of business analytics in the workplace and for the delivery of services to consumers. 
ILO3: Evaluate the legal and ethical issues in the use of personal data in product/service innovation.
ILO4: Propose solutions to mitigate risk and safeguard public trust from the adoption and use of business analytics.

Assignment details

Select and describe a real-case scenario where AI was used in an unethical way in one of the industries listed in the Appendix. The chosen industry should be different than the one you chose for your original individual assignment. Critically identify and discuss the ethical, legal, societal and/or environmental challenges that this technology caused while drawing on taught appropriate theoretical and legal concepts and frameworks (ILOs1,2,3). You also need to discuss what should have been done to mitigate and/or correct these unethical implications imposed by this AI and to ensure the safety and security of this innovation (i.e., solutions; ILO4).

This reassessment accounts for 100% of the unit’s grade.

This individual assignment is expected to be 3000 words in length (Font: Times New Roman 12). This number excludes words in references, diagrams, images, and tables. • The use of relevant and sufficient sources to support arguments.
