(K) Demonstrate in-depth knowledge in global design communications, creative design, design analysis, optimisation and simulation, and virtual design techniques.

(S) Evaluate and select appropriate design techniques and tools for integrated design projects.

(S) Synthesise a wide range of digital design and manufacturing tools to aid product development. 

Assessment and marking criteria

1.       Selection and rationale of the CAD methodology 10%

2.       Clarification on the CAD process 40%

-          The use of modelling techniques

-          The use of assembly techniques

-          CAD testing, evaluation & iteration techniques

3.       The quality of the resulting models(complexity, accuracy, completeness) 30%

4.       Quality of the report (presentation, structure, language, academic rigour) 10%

5.       Overall professionalism (naming, file hierarchies, file size control) 10%

Assessment method by which a student can demonstrate learning outcomes:

The student should demonstrate their learning outcomes by clarifying the selection and implementation process of modelling/evaluating CAD methods in the project report. CAD files (models, assemblies) of the project should be submitted with the report. All files should be well organised and submitted to Wiseflow.

   A single zipped folder which contains:

1.       A project report in .pdf format

2.       Model/assembly/UI prototype files of the project
