Task details and instructions
he unit will be assessed through:
- A poster with pre-recorded presentation for 4-5mins, which will contribute 90% of the assessment mark and a 10% mark accumulated through worksheets/activities at the DELTA Lab sessions. Together, they will worth 100% of the unit assessment value.
- Students will produce an individual poster presentation that critically explores a particular life event for children, young people and families. Students will be expected to apply theoretical perspectives and academic literature to support their presentation. In discussing the life event, students will examine contemporary challenges and changes in the lives of children, young people and families in the context of policy and practice.
- The poster will be presented through a 4-5 minute pre-recorded oral presentation, which will elaborate on the theoretical concepts and key points illustrated in the poster. The oral presentation should develop deeper insights rather than simply repeat the poster content.
Learning outcomes for this assignment
On successful completion of this Course Unit students will be able to:
- Critically analyse key concepts and theories related to children, young people and families from a range of perspectives.
- Critically evaluate differing strategies and interventions to address life events for children, young people and families.
- Explain the diverse personal experience and changing nature of families including the local, national and global influences.
- Identify, interpret and evaluate appropriate research and evidence related to current policy and practice on children young people and families.
