Coursework Submission Requirements

  • An electronic copy of your work for this coursework must be fully uploaded on the Deadline Date of using the link on the coursework Moodle page for COMP1431.
  • For this coursework you must submit a single PDF document.  In general, any text in the document must not be an image (i.e. must not be scanned) and would normally be generated from other documents (e.g. MS Office using "Save As .. PDF"). An exception to this is hand written mathematical notation, but when scanning do ensure the file size is not excessive. 
  • There are limits on the file size (see the relevant course Moodle page).
  • Make sure that any files you upload are virus-free and not protected by a password or corrupted otherwise they will be treated as null submissions. 
  •  Your work will not be printed in colour. Please ensure that any pages with colour are acceptable when printed in Black and White. 
  • You must NOT submit a paper copy of this coursework.
  •  All courseworks must be submitted as above. Under no circumstances can they be accepted by academic staff

You are an IT security auditor working for CyberSAFE Auditors of Romney Road, Greenwich. One day the Chief Auditor, Robert Beadle, asks you to audit and prepare a report on behalf of a new client, the University of Greenwich facility in King William in Greenwich. Robert speaks to you informally about this audit job and you agree that you will attempt it; he then, formally, sends you the specification documents. Read these attached documents and familiarise yourself with the scenario.

Deliverables 

Robert Beadle explains that you must arrange for the following tasks to be undertaken:

  1. DEFINE TASKS AND PLAN WORK: You do not have a team, so at times you will need to be auditing different things (Methods, Secure Areas, Equipment Security) and also produce a professional report.
  2. CONDUCT FIELDWORK: must decide on adopted fieldwork methods, timetable and approach
  3. KEEP WIP NOTES: as the audit progresses, keep notes of at least three key decisions/tasks etc. (up to 250 words each). The notes should cover task details, decisions/approach/rationale and key actions for audit process.
  4. PREPARE AUDIT REPORT: must produce an audit report according to required template (see Audit Job Allocation form) and containing an Appendix A showing notes of key decisions and rationale (no more than 250 words each)

Robert then presents each of you formally with the following documents:-

  •  An Audit Job Allocation form, to inform you of the job you have agreed to undertake,
  • A copy of the original letter from the client specifying the audit to be undertaken,
  • A copy of a relevant part of ISO27002 (2022) s.7 that he wants you to use,
