Learning Outcomes

1. Discuss the purpose of accounting in the financial management of an entity. 

2. Interpret the Annual Report for a quoted company.  

3. Describe the main financial principles and conventions.  

4. Identify and use budgeting and the basic costing principles, concepts and cost classifications.  

5. Identify and use costing techniques and methods for analytical and managerial problem-solving purposes.  

Formatting Requirements  

The work should be word-processed. Font size should be between 11 and 14 and ‘easy to read’ e.g. Calibri, Arial, Times New Roman. Line spacing should be between 1.5 and 2 with (approx.) 4 cm margins all round. The header must include the student number and the Footer must include a page number. Print on one side of the paper only. 

Group Work  

Group members should share sufficient contact information to enable them to communicate with each other in the timescales required. They should also ensure that every group member has a copy of, or access to, material produced about the coursework. Groups should consist of 3 or 4 students and a strict maximum is 5 allowed.
