Refresh DMU IT equipment – Staff desktops to laptops

In today's dynamic working environment, agility and mobility are crucial for maintaining a competitive edge and reducing costs. Traditional Desktop PCs (personal computers), while reliable and suitable for campus-based roles, lack the flexibility required to support modern workstyles such as remote work and collaboration. Furthermore, transitioning to laptops, where appropriate, is also imperative due to aging desktop devices and the imminent security risks posed by unsupported windows 10. Thus, the refresh DMU IT equipment from desktops to laptops initiative will not only enhance staff flexibility, but also aligns with the university's strategic plan, emphasising innovation and flexibility as core digital strategy components. The purpose of this project is to ensure all staff at DMU (where applicable) are issued with a laptop device within the next 6 months. However, Campus based staff will be issued with an appropriate Desktop device. There are currently 1278 staff Desktop devices in use that are due for replacement over the next 6 months. You are required to develop a project management report which ensures that this project is well within the specified time, cost and at the required standard.
