Component 1: Group Poster and elevator pitch (25%)

• In a group of five students, you must develop a Business Model Canvas (BMC) poster outlining the key components of a new business idea. The BMC is a visual framework for describing, designing, and challenging your business model. 

Poster Pitch

“Every group member will make a 1-minute elevator pitch to clearly define, describe and articulate the value and feasibility of the proposed business idea. The modalities for the elevator pitch delivery will be communicated during our sessions and BB announcements.”

A student in the group will submit all the group’s slides, other group members will submit just the cover page with title, group members' names, BB number, seminar tutor’s name, percentage contribution by each member and a 1-minute elevator pitch YouTube video link

Task Breakdown

• Research, discuss and agree on the business idea you wish to explore as a group and decide on the business name for your idea
• Use the BMC template to design your business model. Components of BMC to be shared among members. Use relevant data,  demonstrate creativity and provide in-text citations for any external sources used in designing the poster.
• Each group member must make a 1-minute elevator pitch to articulate the business idea.
• All members must merge their elevator pitches into a single file and upload them on a YouTube page as unlisted  
• The YouTube link must be attached to the poster title page and embedded into the appropriate page of the poster template
• Where  external materials have been used, provide a reference list (Harvard referencing style)
• Elevator pitch ranges between 54 seconds and 60 seconds.
• Slides/cover page submission on Turnitin before noon on Friday, 28 March 2025.
• If you make a pitch without submitting your poster or submit without making a pitch, it is an automatic zero!

Feasibility Study and New Venture Report (75%)

• The assignment extends the exploration of the proposed business idea by exploring its feasibility and integrating an analysis of the entrepreneurial ecosystem of your chosen country, region, or city. Your report should investigate and discuss how the entrepreneurial ecosystem influences the feasibility and success of your specific ventures. This assignment is in two parts:
• Part A: Feasibility study (600 words)-15%
• Part B: Entrepreneurship Ecosystem Analysis (2000 words)-60%
• In Part A, the feasibility study must have key sections that include leveraging trends, innovation highlights, and global market perspectives.
• In Part B, an ecosystem (a country/city) must be selected for evaluation, and the Isenberg model of EE must be applied to explore the feasibility of business in the selected ecosystem.
