A 35-year-old Black African woman is pregnant with her first child. However, the pregnancy is considered a high risk as she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer during pregnancy. In addition, her medical history revealed that a faulty BRCA gene is inherited in her family. The patient has accepted genetic testing to detect any chromosomal abnormalities or genetic changes to aid in evaluating prognosis and treatment strategies for her. She has also received an amniocentesis analysis to investigate any possible genetic abnormality of the foetus.
