You are the international manager in an MNE (choose an MNE different from Assignment 1).

The company has decided to expand and enter a new country.

Design a strategic business report for the MNE to help in its decision-making regarding entering, investing, and managing its operations in the new host country environment.

Your strategic report should be based on and cover the following areas of analysis:

• Assess the new host country business environment
• Justify why the particular host country is selected for expansion.
• Entry mode strategy of the MNE (Why is this mode of entry suitable?)
• What international strategy should it adopt? (Localisation vs Globalisation)-practices to adopt/adapt, (for example, related to HRM, marketing, production, operations, supply chain etc.)
• Discuss ethics and sustainability with respect to its operations. What sustainability-related issues and practices the MNE should consider and adopt in this new host country?

(For the purpose of this hypothetical business situation, you are permitted to pretend that the MNE is not currently present in the host country, even if that is not the case in real life).Use concepts, theories, and frameworks introduced in the class to critically analyse, justify and design your strategy accordingly. Intersperse the text with visual ‘evidence’ to substantiate your analysis and underpin your recommendations. This can be a combination of charts, graphs, diagrams, maps, tables, pics, and other forms of infographics and data presentation.

Collect data and information from secondary research using academic and non-academic sources found online or in the library (Check lecture slides and module information page for a list of some data and information sources).
