1. DTR Report 

This individual assignment involves an analysis of a selected live business case, followed by the proposal of a digital transformation strategy based on the conducted analysis. Students have the freedom to choose their business and are expected to comprehensively research and understand the chosen business. The task includes identifying problems the business is facing and proposing digital solutions to enhance its digital transformation strategy. This report should apply concepts and technical skills acquired during lectures and seminars and integrate industry insights gained from their coursework 1, the groupwork.

Key elements of the report:

1. Analyse how their business fits within the larger trends of the industry.
2. Analyse and evaluate the current business strategy and its challenges.
3. Propose a detailed digital transformation strategy for the business.
Preparation Advice: Students are advised to start selecting their business for their coursework 2, the individual report, from week 2, aligning it with the work done in Coursework 1.

Report Structure and Marking 

1. Introduction to the chosen business and its industry context 
2. Evaluation of the business’s current digital transformation efforts
3. Recommendations for an enhanced digital transformation strategy 
4. Academic quality and presentation of the report

2. The Wakelet 

This will act as a platform for you to log down and document your weekly learning and upload all your reflections, references, communication, files, etc.. For each week of the semester (weeks 1-11), you are required to upload your own learning to your Wakelet. These weekly updates have a weight of 30% of your coursework 2, i.e. 15% of the overall assessment of the module!

2. Review and appreciate the role of digital transformation in business in developing sustainable business models and creating competitive advantage.
3. Critically analyse when, why, and how digital transformation should be considered a problem- solving strategy from a business perspective, evaluating appropriate types of digital transformation.
4. Apply analysis and critical thinking to evaluate the use of digital technologies as solutions to real business problems, reviewing the appropriateness and effectiveness of digital transformation strategies, concepts, processes & functions.
