About this Unit

This module aims to develop the knowledge and skills expected of a finance manager, about investment, financing, and dividend policy decisions. Students who complete this module should have a solid base from which to continue to L6 Corporate Finance. 

Learning Outcomes

On completion of the module students will be able to: 

• LO1. Display and apply extensive detailed knowledge of methods of managing funds within a company.  
• LO2. Analyse financial and non-financial information related to problems in finance, distinguish  relevant information, and compare, select, and apply a range of established techniques to  assist organizations in their investment decisions 
• LO3. Critically review the validity of arguments in support of theoretical models and investigate contradictory evidence. 
• LO4. Identify the critical elements of complex problems and apply the necessary knowledge and skills, required for their solution. 
• LO5. Debate issues in finance and provide professional recommendations and advice in an appropriate format.
