7011EXQ Assignment Task

The purpose of this assignment is to conduct a comprehensive evaluation of the Country's energy landscape with a focus on environmental sustainability and renewable energy integration, and develop a concept of how the country can further incorporate smart, clean, sustainable energy systems into its current energy system to assess the country's progress towards achieving sustainable energy goals. Each student will be allocated a separate country to analyse (Please check Aula for the instructions).  
Students will analyse: 

1. Country Overview: 
a. Provide a brief overview of [Country]'s geographical location, population,  economic profile, and energy demand trends. 
b. Identify key energy sources currently utilised in [Country], including fossil fuels,  renewables, and nuclear energy. 
c. Current energy system, its energy mix, demand and supply, any exports.

2. Renewable energy potential 
a. Assess the renewable energy potential of the country across various sources such as solar, wind, hydro, biomass, marine, tidal, nuclear, and geothermal. b. Assess what renewable and sustainable projects the government of the country has planned or is planning to deploy. 
c. Utilise available data and analysis tools to estimate the technical, economic,  and geographical feasibility of the project 
d. Identify barriers and challenges hindering the widespread adoption e. Divide the section based on the sector: 
i. Electricity generation sector 
ii. Heating/cooling sector 
iii. Transportation sector

3. Discuss the current characteristics of its electricity grid, and opportunities for decentralised and/or smart grid technologies

Submission Instructions:

All your analysis and supporting statements must be submitted with the following characteristics:

1- Each student must submit their individual report evaluation of the country selected

2- The file format to be submitted must be the Microsoft Word document template provided, and it must be in MS Word format, e.g. .doc or .docx and not PDF

3- The document must be submitted via Aula, on the appropriate link on the designated date.

4- The document must not exceed a 2,500-word limit (Assignments that are more than 10% over the word limit will result in a deduction of 10% of the mark, i.e. a mark of 60% will lead to a reduction of 6% to 54%. The word limit includes quotations, but excludes the bibliography, reference list and numeric tables.)

5- You are expected to use Coventry University APA style for referencing, in-text citation and captioning of figures, images, graphs and tables (This includes the use of AI). For support and advice on this, students can contact Centre for Academic Writing (CAW).

6- The document must have:

a. A cover page with your name, student number, module, and assignment title
