Development Manager working for a company headquartered in The Netherlands.

Your brief as the company’s Global Leadership Development Manager is to produce an evidence-based, critically- informed 2,500-word structured management report (an assessment portfolio with relevant citations of academic literature) for the Global Director People Management and Organisational Development that addresses five questions for developing the cross-cultural leadership skills of marketing and sales staff in company headquarters in The Netherlands and in China, with a particular focus on Customer Relationship Management (CRM).

The four questions you are required to answer are:

Q1. How can Hofstede’s and GLOBE dimensions of national culture be relevant to addressing the opportunities and challenges for training staff in China in the company’s approach to CRM for continued sales growth? (20%, 500 words)

Q2. What are the implications of the case study for developing the cultural intelligence of marketing and sales staff in headquarters and in China? (30%,
750 words)

Q3. What are the implications of the case study for improving motivation, leadership and teamwork within and between the Dutch headquarters and the Chinese operations concerning CRM? Include attention to improving virtual team working between CRM staff in Dutch headquarters and staff in China. (30%, 750 words)

Q4. What can the Global Director of People Management and Organisational Development do to prepare to communicate and negotiate constructively and effectively with her executive management colleagues in Shanghai about improvements and potential changes to parent company principles, policies, and practices for training and development in CRM for marketing and sales staff in China? (20%, 500 words).

4. Demonstrate a critical and practical understanding of different perspectives on motivation and leadership in cross-cultural organisational situations.

5. Demonstrate a critical and practical understanding of different types of teamwork, including virtual team working, in cross-cultural and
multicultural situations. 

On completion you will be able to:
